Eagle Nation,
As some of you may know it was recently posted this morning on the Sports Illustrated website that the Ishpeming High School in Michigan won first place. To the best of my guess, we were in second place trying so hard to capture the lead and 1st place. We want to congratulate Ishpeming High School for winning the special honor.
We know we are disappointed for not winning this, nevertheless, we are very grateful for the outpouring support from everyone all across the country and maybe overseas. It has been a tremendous ride for our school getting all the publicity we can for CSD and other Deaf Schools.
We also were able to bring the Deaf and Hearing Communities together and support each other in many ways, bringing us to a new level in how we can work together for the future of our schools and Deaf children.
We still have a lot to celebrate as our fall sports teams did great and earned a lot of recognitions and we will continue to SOAR from this tremendous experience!!
We want to recognize the Outreach Department Staff and Instructional Television Class Students and Staff for their never dying support and help in the Sports Illustrated voting campaign. They were great teammates to work with in this whole experience!! We know there are many others we want to thank out there and the list will be too long to name!!!!!
Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts and we will continue to SOAR!!!!!
Go Eagles!!

Eagle Nation,
CSD is flirting with history!! Our Eagles Football and Volleyball teams have broken our school records for most wins in a season with monumental victories last Saturday in their respective North Coast Sectional playoff opener. We hope to continue to rewrite our history books with victories this week!
The Volleyball team continues to be on a tear and rack up victories after victories with 22 now and they too will look to attempt to improve their season record victories this coming Wednesday in the NCS Semifinals at Rincon Valley Christian.
The Football team won its 10th game of the year and look to up the record this coming Saturday in the NCS Semifinals vs St. Vincent who was on top of our league but we are league champion based on our head to head win over St. Vincent during the regular season.

Eagle Nation!!!
We are delighted to share with you our North Coast Brackets. Our Volleyball and Football team earned high seeds to reflect how they have done all season. The Volleyball team is seeded #3 and the Football team is seeded #2, with that said, we are thrilled to be able to host both games on Saturday, November 10. It is probably the first time ever we are hosting both North Coast Section playoff games on the same day!!!
We need to share with you that since this is a NCS game, the admission costs are determined by the North Coast Section as followed:
$9 for General Admission (Adults)
$6 for Students, Senior Citizens (60 and over)
Free for Children 4 and under
These are the prices for each game, we are sorry there is no combo ticket. All proceeds of the gate income are returned to the North Coast Section.

Eagle Nation,
Thank you to everyone for helping make the Homecoming yesterday a special one!!! It was a long time since we did it on a Thursday but if afforded everyone in the Residential program to be able to enjoy the Homecoming festive! The students planned for a lot of activities for the Spirit Week and Homecoming and there leadership was amazing!!
The Cheerleaders did a remarkable job running the Pep Rally like always!!! They sure got the audience involved!!! They also treated our teams, Volleyball and Football with a very special surprise decorating the locker rooms with treats for our student-athletes to feast on before their games. And they cheered our Volleyball and Football team to our victories!!!!
The Volleyball team took on the Halloween spirit and gave us not either but both a trick and treat by allowing our opponent to steal the first two games and then treating our fans a comeback 3-2 win! This gives us an undefeated record in our league!!!!! They now get ready for league playoffs next week!!
The Football team took on our long time rival Emery who was always our Homecoming opponent years in the past when we did nt play a Deaf school for Homecoming. We were able to secure a shutout victory (24-0) to bring our record to 8-1 and a first place tie in our league.
Yesterday was our last game for our Seniors!!!! We will miss them! However, we have a very strong chance of hosting a North Coast Section playoff game here at CSD with the way our Volleyball and Football teams are playing this means our Seniors will have one or more chance to play at CSD!!! We will find out on Nov. 4 the playoff schedule so be on the lookout for more info coming.
Everyone from all departments here at CSD had some kind of contribution to all the fun and success we had and we thank you for that. This also includes our community members and families and friends!! This reminds us why we are #1 and its all because of YOU!
Have a great weekend!!
Go Eagles!!!

Eagle Nation,
Thanks very much for supporting our Eagles teams. Our student-athletes appreciate all the support they get from their teachers, staff, administrators, fans, alumni, and community.
Last week was a very special opportunity for our Varsity football team when we had Sports Illustrated come and shoot a video about our football team. Sports Illustrated contacted us and expressed an interest to do a story on our team. They were here at a short notice and came on last week Thursday and Friday to videotape our team activities, practices, and interview our players and coaches as well as the game on Friday night as you may have saw.
Sports Illustrated is going to show the video on their website: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/specials/underdogs/ hopefully on either Tuesday, Sept. 25 or Tuesday, October 2.
They will show a total of 10 episodes and have completed their fourth last week and show new episodes every Tuesday. The fifth episode will be tomorrow, Sept. 18.
You can watch the previous 4 episodes and get an idea of what they have been showing.
We will work with them to try to get our episode captioned.
Many thanks for your continued support!
Go Eagles!!
