California School for the Deaf
California School for the Deaf (CSD) is an internationally acclaimed school for deaf and hard of hearing children. CSD is a fully accredited state-funded school under the California Department of Education for students who are deaf or hard of hearing living in Northern California.
It provides an educational program that is research-based and follows the California Department of Education’s Curriculum standards. Students are taught to develop mastery in both languages, English and American Sign Language. Communication services, including Spoken English/articulation, auditory training, speech reading, and communication strategies are provided by Spoken English teachers and pediatric audiologists. Deaf children ages 0-21 may attend the school.

Four hundred California Department of Education employees specialized to work with deaf and hard of hearing children including teachers; pediatric audiologist; reading teacher specialists; math teacher specialists; Spoken English teachers; assessment staff; American Sign Language teachers; students with special needs staff; counselors and more.
Educational tours for families with deaf children and monthly tours for the public are given on a regular basis.
