Transportation

CSD transportation services are essential for many of our students to access their education program. In the interest of student safety regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, it is necessary to put in place operational procedures for us to successfully transport those students home on Fridays and Sundays or altered days depending on the school calendar who require our services.

CSD currently provides home to school transportation service to students who have transportation as a required service in their Individualized Educational Program (IEP).

Below are the guidelines that will allow CSD to provide services when we return to inperson education:
  • Parent/guardian transport is encouraged as the safest form of transportation.

  • All contracted and/or CSD drivers and staff must perform COVID-19 Daily Self Symptom Check.

  • Staff will be provided all PPE necessary to perform duties safely.

  • All contracted vehicles will be cleaned and disinfected between routes and at the end of each shift.

  • Routes will be designed with reduced operation capacity to ensure social distancing to the greatest extent possible.

  • Parents/guardians are responsible for self-screening students prior to a student entering the school bus and assure the student’s temperature is below 100.0°F (37.8°C).

  • If a student can respond “YES” to any screening question, they should not enter the bus. They should remain home and notify the school office.

  • Masks required for students unless a medical condition prevents a student from wearing a mask or face shield.

  • Seat assignments are mandatory to assure proper social distancing and contact tracing.

  • A parent/guardian will be required to pick up any symptomatic student from the school site.

  • The Transportation Department will not transport known symptomatic students.

Transportation District Contracted Services

Many students attend CSD for their educational programs. These students are transported to their programs via a District-contracted service. The district providing CSD students with transportation will have additional guidelines for safe transportation and monitor their own safety.

The guidelines are listed below:
  • Parent/guardian transport is encouraged as the safest form of transportation.

  • Parents/guardians are responsible for completing the Daily COVID-19 Health Screening for students before a student enters the vehicle and assure the student’s temperature is below 100.0°F (37.8°C).

  • If a student can respond “YES” to any screening question, they should not enter the vehicle.

  • They should remain home and notify the school office.

  • Maintain physical distance while in transit.

  • All vehicles will be cleaned and disinfected before and after each route by the district of residence.

  • A-B schedules to assure social distancing will be determined by the district transportation office.

  • Masks required for students unless medical condition prevents a student from wearing a mask or face shield, unless medical or handicapping condition prevents.

  • A parent/guardian will be required to pick up any symptomatic student from the school site.
