CSD Induction Program

The Induction Program is co-sponsored by the California Department of Education (CDE) and the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) designed to support the professional development of newly credentialed, beginning teachers and fulfill the requirements for the California Clear Multiple and Single Subject and Educational Specialist credentials (Deaf & Hard of Hearing/DHH). To do so, the opportunity to clear their credentials as they grow professionally, through a carefully crafted Individual Induction Program designed to meet each teacher's needs.

Teachers of the Deaf at the California School for the Deaf in Fremont (CSD) are now able to clear their Preliminary Educational Specialist credentials (Deaf/Hard of Hearing) and/or their general education credentials (Single or Multiple Subject) through Induction - a rigorous program of mentoring, study, field work and professional development.

Perhaps the first program of its kind in California, CSD's Induction program allows for our teachers to design their own Individual Learning Plan and specifically tailored to meet the professional needs of Teachers of the Deaf. The program has been in existence since 2010.
