Education Technology

CSD believes that its vital to provide Deaf students with high quality access to technology applications in and out of the classroom.  The purpose of the application of technology will cover a wide spectrum of learning and assessment experiences.

The biggest application at CSD would be the iMovie software where students will be given the opportunity to develop, review, and revise their first language, American Sign Language that would further support their ability to acquire English.  There are also many other online subscriptions that further enriches our instructional environment as our students are visual learners.

Students are assessed using technology (e.g. Measure of Academic Progress, Smarter Balanced Assessment, ASL 6+1 Rubric) which gives our teachers quick data on where the student is at so that the lessons can be appropriately tailored for each student's learning outcomes.

The Education Technology specialists also prepares staff development training in supporting teachers in using any applications that the school have purchased for instructional purposes.
