We are excited to have your family join the California School for the Deaf (CSD) community. Below are some helpful links that you can utilize throughout the 2021-2022 school year.

Connect to our student database system where you, as parents, can monitor your child's attendance, grade reports, and alerts.
Get a free video phone at home to communicate with teachers and students.
Family ASL Program - American Sign Language classes are available for parents and siblings of deaf children from infant to high-school age at no cost. More information forthcoming soon.
Association of Families, Teachers and Counselors (AFTC) welcomes parents to volunteer, and participate in events, and monthly virtual meetings during the academic year. Interpreting services provided upon request.
CSD's Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is a team of educators, service providers, and parents of CSD children. Monthly virtual meetings occur during the academic year. CAC welcomes parents to contact them. Interpreting services provided upon request.
The Student Life Division provides living space for our students whose families live too far for a daily commute. Our trained, ASL-fluent residential staff members teach students to develop their self-esteem, leadership and independent living skills.
Our library offers opportunities for students to enhance both English reading and American Sign Language receptive skills through various resources including Storysigning.
Division of Instruction (DOI) is an overview of our academic departments--Early Childhood Education, Elementary School, Middle School, High School and Career Technical Education.
Early Start, Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten
The Career Technical Education Department offers programs providing instruction that prepares students for a variety of careers. Our teachers are skilled and have an effective working relationship with the Career Center and High School departments.
The families, staff, the Deaf Community, the business community and the community at large in the transition planning process is regarded as essential to the mission of the Career Center/Transition Program.
