Work Experience

Work Experience provides opportunities for students to volunteer in jobs on campus and develop the prerequisite skills necessary for entering competitive employment. The Work Experience curriculum teaches students how to get a job in a variety of departments throughout the California School for the Deaf campus, keep a job, leave a job, work ethics, and career awareness. When the Work Experience teacher is not directly overseeing the Work Experience student, he or she remains under the supervision of their on-campus work supervisor.  In addition, students will update their career portfolio, which shows their abilities, knowledge, and skills achieved in Work Experience.
