Social and emotional skills are integral to young children’s learning and set the stage for success in school and in life. Children need to be taught these skills throughout their entire day and program in order to:

  • develop with a healthy and strong sense of self,
  • to develop resiliency in order to deal with adversity
  • to get along with and have empathy for others

For young children, the social emotional skills needed for a strong foundation in school are primarily learned through PLAY. Play is essential to the child’s overall development and promotes all of the skills needed to thrive now and later in life whether at school, work or home.
