yes it's my second Vlog this year and is my second year really wow it's been very very busy to this point was progressing forward CS teaching a great job tell standing my second year means I'm more fear of what cfd is like I'm more aware of my team members I'm more involved and moving forward after this month this month is I'm very busy we have hsdb here the Hawaiian school for the deaf and blind and they've come out here during their break today on a chance to look around and see if there's a model School the bilingual porch of education and all that we've done here at CST to this point learning from us and bringing that back to Hawaii for their school's development is variance you still have them here and we'll see our next guest here whatever talking yes I did and I can't tell you how wonderful this week has been for all of us from Hawaii we really  the other the spirit here is that we are very proud of ourselves we're very welcoming from people from all different parts of the world to Hawaii and we like to share our cultures and Sharon are wonderful are the things that people are able to do in Hawaii and at least a share ourselves and this is exactly what it happened this week people are very welcoming for us at the same time they we shared so many interesting gifts with us I can see the pride in the school here I understand why now still or seeing here is that teachers that were very Innovative teachers are very much caring about their students also the collaboration with each other they are helping develop each other improve each other throat an ongoing basis  we see the administration get me a ministers that are very supportive of their staff and very involved no one that really hit me was when I went around to different places when we asked the nature about their programs how things are going  it was a really an A to Z response they were it looks plain very clearly is it in the scope of you know assessment curriculum instruction and it was very very eloquent the points are well done if I seen that at other campuses around at other schools I haven't yet seen that  it was a really wonderful and very fresh for all of see that the wonderful Workshop Lobby attendant and they were experts in their field  not extra here at Fremont but they're doing things that are really changing the field and that's how we not for the teaching their children and was very impressive and not just to say that but we're limited to certain people they give us access to workshops we want to see the classroom activities you know in every classroom we went into feel this week really has felt like it's really part of a big family we were just visitors when we arrived as visitors we left as part of you know what I save the family and if that really cares for the exact same things for improvement of deaf education for everyone so I want to close with the theme and Tom from a Disney movie help if we low and Stitch and maybe you've seen it but the idea that oh I'm home and that's the Hawaiian word for family does not just family it's really a large or family and very inclusive people that here and cherish there close to us we welcome them in and what Lilo & Stitch had said was Oahu is family the larger family there's and family means no one gets left behind no one's left out and no one gets forgotten we will always remember this week here at cfd in Hawaii and there's malahoo which is thank you but if more than when you say malahoo  the Leah that means are very large things like wow thank you so very much thank you to everyone I hear at Fremont at cfd  mulatto navaja  thank you I love you always have NAD board directors here it was their first meeting as the new team after their elections last summer was very excited to start their two-year commitment NAD here at see your feet right now they're having board meetings as we speak and will be doing tours of the school I'll be here tomorrow as well we're thrilled to have NAD here I want to sync mad Zephyr operating access for Deaf Americans all over the United States they're working very hard at the same time they were talking to our students that they're committed to schools stop all over they know that schools for the deaf are the foundation of our culture our community and our future so thrilling to have NAD here  did a very special visitor National Association of the deaf National Association of the deaf here is their vivid infighting protecting all of your rights Americans Captain televisions interpreters over the list of very very long they support schools for the deaf and watching over who is for us we know where's your future you know you're working very hard here in school and getting a good education now you're when you go to the real Ward say I'm deaf and I'm proud and I'm ready and it will I'm a sliced who's supporting you 50 L you know you're not what's the Ned  are there I would like to come and congratulate our brand-new and 80 President mr. Chris Wagner well thank you wow this is great this is purple of what a perfect example of what a school for the deaf should be the perfect example here you become a model for all schools for the deaf you got your team's you got your students here you're obviously very proud of them we have two true leaders here my name is Chris Wagner  and I'm the president of NAD I was elected last July I've been very busy up to this point with a whole variety of different issues and topics just yesterday we have the universe the movie we want Netflix Las Vegas Netflix and we are battling against them and we've come to agreement they promised they would 100% caption film how exciting  that is what did he does for you  also we looked at school for the deaf making sure that the school so that's are protected as well we value our schools the death and see if he's a great model look at the school hear the success in the past when I was growing up  people say all stop complaining complaining do something I want to turn that into action I have always learned growing up thing all while complaining will do something about it then don't just complain I do the same old thing nothing will change you can take your plate and turn to action you can find change in your perfect examples of this what's ESD is all about also I wanted to I'm thrilled to say and let you know that CST is committed to having academic goals annual exam of some of the federal law the nclb and is done in all 50 states they have their testing and processes we took this test and we've done this every year and our Earth have greatly increased in you'll see this here  okay now there's schools they were very excited to announce to all of you our API scores remember you all took those remember those you all took this test if done every year to stars tattoo take every year and you're aware of it  no there's there's bee of motivation you are good enough you know but anything everything is taken commiseration there's one score for the entire school here  50 last year API score it just it just one number for the whole school and what is that shot everybody  there you see that 461 that was our school score for 61 all of you took this exam last year and I received the numbers and new API score is all this is exciting wonderful what a huge increase wow that's a huge increase I'm so proud of all of you we are so proud of all you write yes we are this is wonderful CSD is in the 1% of schools in California what a huge increase the top 1%  I'm standing I'm so proud of CSD I'm so proud of all of you as you can see through this month can you imagine what's going to happen going forward I'm so thrilled to tell you more information as it goes
