Health Screening

Health screenings refer to symptom screening, temperature screening, or a combination of both. In addition, screening questions include recent COVID exposure and/or recent COVID diagnosis.
 
CSD will implement the following protocols (subject to change per ACPHD school health screening guidance):
  • Signs will be posted at all entrances instructing students, staff, and visitors not to enter campus if they have any COVID-19 symptoms. COVID-19 symptoms include fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, recent loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.

  • All students and staff should be screened for symptoms each day. Staff and students’ parents or guardians should conduct a screening for any and all symptoms, at-home, prior to arrival to coming to a school site, daily using CSD’s PowerSchool feature.

  • Students (or parent/guardian of students) who have NOT completed the CSD electronic screening prior to arrival the same day will complete the questionnaire prior to proceeding on campus.

  • Contactless thermometers may be used daily for students.

  • Students or staff with any identified COVID-19 symptoms, or a temperature of 100.0° F or higher will be isolated and must be sent home immediately until testing and/or medical evaluation has been conducted.

  • Staff shall complete this COVID-19 Daily Self Symptom Check via the school’s intranet or QR Code before they arrive on campus each day, or for any site they visit that day.

On-campus symptom and temperature screening for students will be conducted using a contactless thermometer. Screening stations will be set up at least 6-feet apart from each other. A physical barrier, such as a glass window or clear plastic barrier on a table, for the person taking the temperature to stand behind will be put in place.

Students will need to answer the following questions (questions subject to change) or have them answered by parents/guardians daily (same day prior to arriving on campus). Students who do not have the screening complete upon arrival will be screened prior to proceeding onto campus:

  • Within the past 10 days, has the student had close contact with anyone in the household who was diagnosed with COVID-19 or who had a test confirming they have the virus?

  • Does the student live in the same home with someone who has been in isolation or who had a positive test for COVID-19 within the past 10 days?

  • Within the last 10 days, has the student had close contact with someone outside the household who was diagnosed with COVID-19 or who had a test confirming they have the virus?

  • In the past 10 days was the student diagnosed with or have a test confirming they have COVID-19?

  • In the last 10 days, has the student had any of these symptoms, which are new or different, or not
    explained by another reason?

    • COVID related symptoms include: fever or chills, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, feeling unusually weak, fatigue, loss of taste or smell, muscle or body aches, headache, runny nose, congestion, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, seem ill or starting to get sick.

  • If YES to any above question: STAY HOME / GO HOME, notify school office, and contact your medical provider as needed. District COVID Liaison will follow up.

  • Did you do a temperature check with a thermometer? Fever is a temperature of 100.0°F (37.8°C) or higher. If not, school staff may check temperature upon student arrival.

  • If temperature 100.0°F (37.8°C) or higher: STAY HOME / GO HOME, notify school office, and contact your medical provider as needed. District COVID Liaison will follow up.
